Materials

Beyond Ductal concrete, we may need to use other materials for finishes or details, for example.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is a mixture of chromium and steel (and therefore carbon). Without going into the details of its composition or its technical properties, stainless steel is renowned for its durability. It does not rust, is not corrosive, and resists all conditions, be it heat, UV, rain, frost, chemical cleaners.

Thus, our nuts for La Tablée, for example, are made of stainless steel, as are the Hectare joints between the panels.

Ipe wood

Ipe wood is an exotic wood from Brazil. It is used in particular for the construction of terraces or patios, because it resists mold and insects, while promising a longevity of up to 100 years depending on its maintenance. It also ensures a high resistance to fire, and will bring aesthetics to all your achievements. Dark in nature, its color varies over time, ending in a pretty gray wood after a few years (if no maintenance).
We use this type of wood for our La Tablée picnic table, for the seats and armrests. You might be wondering why not use Ductal concrete all over? Our answer is : for comfort. When temperatures turn cool, concrete becomes especially cold and uncomfortable. Ipé wood remains at a normal temperature, providing additional comfort. Conversely, when the concrete tends to heat up in the sun in the summer, the wood will maintain pleasant temperatures for the seats and the hands. Only the central plate is made of concrete, in order to provide more resistance and versatility. This Ductal tray allows the making of barbecues and others in complete peace of mind without the risk of staining the wood.
